Your role within the team

H&H Group (home to Orlando's famous Zesty Paws brand) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a HR and Payroll Assistant. In this part-time role, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact by serving as the welcoming face of our employment process and contributing to the smooth operation of our HR team.

As a HR and Payroll Assistant, you will receive guidance and training to support you in understanding HR policies and procedures. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the success of our team and organization as a whole. This role is a hybrid role that will require you to be in office 3x/ week (located in Orlando, FL by the UCF campus). For upcoming graduates, this role can start as a part-time role and transition to full time in June.


Position Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to HR Generalist and department, as assigned
  • Ensure accuracy, currency, and compliance of HR data/records
  • Conduct research, gather data, and develop reports for HR initiatives
  • Establish, monitor, and update employee records
  • Coordinate employment documents and benefits enrollment forms
  • Provide general employment information to new hires
  • Submit enrollment forms and termination information to vendors
  • Review employee handbook and policies with new hires
  • Track performance evaluation process for managers and employees
  • Run weekly and/or bi-weekly employee payroll
  • Monitor and support compliance submissions (IRS Form 5500, EEO-1, Vets 100)
  • Understand tax withholding requirements for multi-state and local taxes
  • Assist with HRIS system updates and data entries (new hires, terminations, status changes)

Experience & Skills

    • 1 year of payroll experience, preferred
    • 1 year of experience working with a PEO, preferred
    • HR experience, preferred
    • Genuine ambition to succeed
