Your role within the team
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Marketing Manager of Category and Business Analytics will contribute to providing the senior leadership team with appropriate information and analytical tools for establishing goals and measuring performance of marketing initiatives or brand activations online and in-store. This individual will lead marketing analytics, reporting and insights, lift from marketing initiatives, competitive tracking and analysis, market share reporting and analysis, and utilize their analytical and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional team members and department heads to drive results and meet targets as defined by operating and strategic business plans.
Duties and responsibilities
- Marketing Analytics and Insights – reporting and analysis of marketing and brand activation initiatives performance , including sku velocity and other productivity metrics by retailer.
- Marketing Modeling and Insights- build performance advertising models, track performance by sales channels and offer data-driven recommendations.
- Business Reporting and Analysis – uncover applicable insights from both canned and ad hoc reports
- Category Management Analytics – performs category analysis, develops insights, and helps prepare business review presentations.
- Marketing Promotion Management - assists Brand teams in development of marketing plans, analyzes and reports on results vs forecast, implements systems and processes, and estimates event volume forecasts and ROI.
- Establish formal business intelligence tracking processes as well as fact-based selling practices.
- Syndicated Data Analysis and insights (e.g. Stackline, Nielsen, etc.)
- Assist in Marketing budgeting and tracking.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of business analytics CPG experience in brand driven environments with high expectations for quality
- Startup / early stage, food industry, and natural products experience strongly
- Bachelor’s degree requiredAnalytical and loves data, able to transform insights from data into recommendations . Supports story-telling with data.
- Results-oriented individual with strong business acumen.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and challenging startup environment
- Willingness to roll up their sleeves to do whatever it takes to get the job done
- Self-directed, pro-active, detail-oriented, and an individual who takes ownership.
- Must be a problem-solver who is team-oriented and passionate about the business.
- Must have strong expertise working with syndicated data (Stackline, Nielsen)
- Expertise in data visualization (Tableau desirable) and and MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
