Duties and responsibilities 

  • Develop and drive broad customer relationships across all levels of the retail customer organizations
  • Attain sales revenue goals for Independent Channel and Distributor accounts, assist VP of Sales in achieving overall wholesale business objectives
  • Business development, open new sales channels and retailers in alignment with the company’s strategic plans
  • Lead Distributor strategy and relationships for Independent channel
  • Optimize resources, closely manage spending to assure margin goals for each territory
  • Hire, manage, mentor and develop sales team members 
  • Provide analysis and insights to the organization on both retailer performance and industry data
  • Work closely with demand planning and supply chain to provide accurate product forecasts
  • Work closely with finance to provide accurate revenue forecasts and trade accruals

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years in CPG sales management and field leadership
  • 3+ years in pet food or supplements category
  • Expertise in sales data analysis and trade analytics
  • 30-40% travel to assist field reps and attend trade shows and/or meetings
  • Proven success in channel management, distributor relations, and goal-driven strategies
  • Track record of revenue growth and goal achievement
  • Experience in P&L management, budgeting, and fast-paced environments
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
  • Business acumen for data reporting to retail and internal teams
  • Negotiation and influencing prowess
  • Proficiency in tech tools
  • Passion for dynamic, entrepreneurial teamwork
