Your role within the team 

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Senior Manager of Consumer & Market Insights will be a key member of the Marketing team and will be hands-on in conducting market segment analysis, delivering industry insights to the organization, category trend information, and customer and consumer insights to drive enhanced strategy and decision making.

This role will oversee data and research programs to ensure our brand experience is superior, our messages are differentiated and connected with the consumer needs, and support innovation by staying ahead of consumer behavior changes. From a category perspective, this role leads trend insights that shape the business and can help us focus or pivot on different categories, products, retailers, consumer behaviors, etc.

Duties and responsibilities 

Consumer Research and Analysis:

  • Design and oversee qualitative and quantitative research projects to gain deep insights into customer, perceptions, satisfaction, and behaviors. Provide actionable insights from all research projects.
  • Analyze market data, customer data, sales data, and industry trends to identify opportunities for growth, innovation in product or brand experience, and market expansion among others. Ensure findings are communicated to the organization

Strategic Planning:

  • Provide actionable insights and guidance for strategic product development, marketing communication, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated go-to-market strategies based on consumer insights and industry trends, leading storytelling with data insights.
  • Provide data-driven, actionable recommendations based on macro and micro trend shifting.

Team Leadership:

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high performing insights team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Drive insights strategy and agenda for HHNA, turning our Insights function into a core competency for the organization that (1) identifies; (2) enables business stakeholders to understand; and (3) act on strategic opportunities.

Competitive Intelligence:

  • Monitor and analyze competitor activities, market trends, and industry developments to inform strategic decision-making and stay ahead in the market.

Data Mining, Visualization and Reporting:

  • Build and maintain an understanding of market trends, and demonstrate proficiency with category development toolkits such as Nielsen, NPD, Stackline, and others.
  • Present research findings and insights to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, enabling data-driven decision-making.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets, policies, and procedures for the insights department, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors degree, required
  • 8 + years market research experience, required
  • 3 + years management and/or analyst experience, required
  • Recent relevant experience with a large CPG company, required
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, required
  • Proven track record of translating data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a high-performing team in person and remotely.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data to diverse audiences.
  • High level proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Excel, etc).
  • Recent previous experience and high level of proficiency with third-party data reporting platforms Nielsen Byzzer and Stackline.
  • Experience with customer journey, product concept, and product development lifecycles.
