The Fleet Support Specialist for BaseOps plays a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency and health of the Zoox vehicle fleet. This position focuses on reviewing incoming BO work requests, scheduling of vehicle repairs/reworks/maintenance/testing, reviewing and setting the priority of work, fleet health monitoring, documentation, and dashboard updates. The specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to streamline hardware and software handoffs from development to operations, supporting fleet program managers in meeting high-level targets and ensuring smooth fleet operations. The fleet support specialist ensures that parts, tools, and documentation are present prior to the start of repairs.  Travel to various Zoox locations may be required. The role also includes working in the repair shop alongside technicians, engineers, and other team members to maintain constant situational awareness of fleet status.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm

In this role, you will:

  • Review the pipeline monitor of work requests, ensuring ongoing communication with the requestor and determining next steps for the requested work.  
  • Collaborate with the scheduling team to secure repair slots and optimize vehicle repair time.
  • Review open vehicle issues and generate action plans to ensure constant monitoring and updates on fleet health.
  • Maintain accurate historical data and record-keeping for vehicle health and repairs.
  • Assist in the creation and development of technical documentation and processes.
  • Support the creation of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting on fleet performance and maintenance.
  • Close the loop on repair feedback to drive improvements in product design and operations.
  • Perform quality inspections of repair orders to ensure compliance with Zoox standards.
  • Support in ordering parts, ensuring parts availability for scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
  • Interface with multiple teams across Zoox to align processes and operations for a smooth workflow.
  • Ensure that internal fleet management systems are updated with timely and accurate information.  
  • Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a fast-paced service-based environment.
  • Familiarity with automotive repair processes and fundamentals.
  • Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and familiarity with MS Office/Google Suites
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to rapidly communicate and respond using various modes of communication (email, Slack, etc.)

  • Bonus Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Autonomous vehicle or advanced robotics experience
  • Prior experience in an automotive service environment and familiarity with automotive repair processes and fundamentals
  • There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling and positioning within a level are determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting represents the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
