Zoox is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and operating frameworks for testing our cloud software stack. This role is part of the Site Reliability Engineering team responsible for guiding and driving long-term reliability, observability, and resiliency in the services that run our robotaxi service.

Given Zoox's robotics foundation, our commitment to automation is paramount, and you'll embody this by developing automated, repeatable, and safe test frameworks.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the synthetic testing, load testing, and chaos testing of cloud microservices. 
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, embedding resilience principles from design through deployment.
  • Be part of the SRE team supporting the common platforms and tools used across the company 
  • Consult with the development teams who develop the cloud software critical to running our robotaxi service.
  • Qualifications:

  • Collaborative spirit to work cross functionally with development teams and other test teams
  • Experience with testing frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, Robot, Selenium, etc.
  • Experience with load testing platforms like locust, cloud-test
  • Understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and common failure modes in complex software environments.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) for deploying and managing test environments.
  • Bonus Qualifications:

  • History of interpreting test results in consultation with development teams in order to improve systems.
  • Previous experience in a safety-critical industry (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical) with a strong understanding of robust testing and verification principles.
  • Compensation
    There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $210,000 to $252,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
