Zoox's Advanced Hardware Engineering team is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of sensor technology, networking, and the main compute platform for our vehicles. In this role, you will work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to design high-speed digital and embedded systems in accordance with industry standards, best practices, and requirements. Your focus will be high-performance compute systems, but you will additionally mentor and direct more junior engineers on a variety of embedded systems as well as be a strong individual contributor.
In this role, you will:
Provide engineering leadership for multiple Control modules, with focus on ComputeWork extensively with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, integration) to ensure product successDrive team to consensus in dynamic environmentDemonstrate technical ownership of your program from concept through to deploymentQualifications
High-speed motherboard design experience is required BS or MS in electrical engineering or equivalent10+ years of professional work experienceStrong electrical engineering fundamentalsTrack record of successful product deliveryExperience in board and system-level testing and characterizationWorking knowledge of schematic design and PCB layout tool (Altium Designer preferred)Passion for problem solving (both technical and organizational)Experience with both prototype and high volume contact manufacturing including Bonus Qualifications
Experience in functional safety/ISO 26262/FMEAExperience with taking products though full EMCExperience in automotive/EV/AV/aerospace/space or similar industriesExperience in software/automation developmentHands-on lab experience such as soldering, and experience with lab equipment (power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer)Familiarity with common industry technologies and protocols including CAN, Ethernet, GNSS, GMSL2, NVMe
