The salary range for this position is $85,500 - $94,000 per year. The base salary offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. 

As a part of the Wayfair Industrial Engineering team, you will scope and implement projects from end to end. You will directly affect Wayfair’s ability to store, ship, and provide value added services to customers. You will support the update and design of building layouts and automation to ensure drawings are accurate. Create new layouts and design to fit conveyors/shelving/work stations and partner with operations teams at the site. Support the development of RFP’s as needed, perform ROI Analysis and Procurement for various supply chain solutions including hardware, software, & supporting technology.

What You’ll Do 

  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Background in electrical drawings and schematics 
  • Lead implementation of material handling systems that enable capacity and productivity improvements in parallel 
  • Communication skills to provide engineering support and project planning coordination and status updates
  • Able to manage vendors in the design process and proposal deliveries i.e. timeline of project and delivery of proposals
  • Space planning and layout design proficiency (AutoCad)
  • Able to discuss and show Return on Investment (Capital vs labor savings)
  • Ability to communicate with Vendors and communicate in meetings internally and externally
  • Organizational skills to keep track of multiple projects in parallel 
  • Travel – 40%-50%
  • Ability to scope electrical work and compare quotations 
  • Experience in conduction power studies and load calculations
  • Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (conveyors, sortation, robotics)
  • Experience with electrical drawings and requirements
  • Provides change management guidance, assists with process and equipment validation including but not limited to development, training, documentation and reporting
  • Knowledge of data mining techniques (SQL)and distribution/conveyor systems
  • Knowledge of 3d drawing capabilities (demo 3D, google sketchup)
  • Process knowledge for Warehouse distribution 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in Project Management 
  • 2+ years of experience or technical background in Project Management or project planning including conveyor design and implementation along with Outbound understanding
  • Detail oriented, proactive, with strong analytical and organizational skills 
  • Excellent time management and multi­tasking skills
  • Experience in AutoCad
  • Experience in utilizing project trackers to manage work and create reporting
