Position Summary & Context

The Cellarity Technology team is growing rapidly, expanding both in scale and in scope of data types. The primary responsibility of the Associate Director is to work with the team to build, implement, oversee production and support scaling of data generation processes that are critical to Cellarity mission. The role will work to ensure these capabilities are optimally aligned with company goals, including by interfacing with the translational biology and AI teams, among others. The successful candidate will have deep experience with genomics and DNA sequencing as well as with other data types, including running production style processes, troubleshooting and process improvement.

Responsibilities

Oversee data generation operations for DNA sequencing and other modalities
Manage staff in production and process teams
Lead or support work to build, implement and optimize processes for data generation team
Drive process optimization and improvement in data generation in collaboration with the development team; Serve as a resource and advisor for technology development projects
Ensure timelines and deliverable commitments are met
Interact with and advise Biology and AI teams as appropriate
Oversee and manage supply chain for production lab
Oversee staff training and mentoring

Requirements

Advanced degree or equivalent in years of experience
8 or more years of professional experience, including at least 4 years of leadership in industry or industry-style setting required
Deep and broad understanding of genomics, DNA sequencing, laboratory automation, laboratory data management and related technologies required; experience with high throughput processes preferred; experience with bioinformatics and data processing pipelines a plus
Experience in technology development, innovation and process improvement in genomics strongly preferred
Experience with single cell technologies strongly preferred
Experience with GLP, GMP, CLIA and other regulatory standards a plus
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required; Must be able to work effectively with wide range of individuals, including biologists, computational scientists, engineers, as well as vendors, academic and industry collaborators and CRO/CMOs
