Position Summary

We are seeking a scientifically and analytically rigorous individual to join the team and drive exploration and map the white space for how machine learning and generative biology can revolutionize sustainability and carbon capture. You will build an innovation roadmap and collaborate with the founders and Flagship leadership to develop and synthesize strategic recommendations for realizing the opportunity, including technical platform build and the magnitude of technological advantage for machine learning and generative biology. You are a trend spotter who can see opportunity in white space and can envision a future where sustainability and carbon capture is revolutionized by machine learning and biology. In addition, you have an uncanny ability to cut through large amounts of disparate information and synthesize it into clear, actionable insights and recommendations. The successful candidate will be deeply collaborative, an outstanding communicator, and will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Drive and refine a scientific innovation strategy with a rapid mastery of the scientific landscape across verticals representing an opportunity for generative machine learning to drive sustainability 
  • Map the total opportunity space for generative machine learning by develop a deep and strategically sound thesis on scientific possibility and viability across industries and processes in the global economy
  • Attract and assimilate a network of key scientific opinion leaders and potential scientific partners that can accelerate the maturation of product and deployment strategies
  • Understand the strengths and limitations of the technology as well as the technical requirements of potential products to be able to quickly triage opportunities and identify those of interest

Basic Qualifications

  • Deep scientific experience within sustainability-related disciplines, the environmental sciences, and/or life sciences
  • Work experience within sustainability-related fields preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to synthesize information rapidly and effectively
  • Ability to parallel process multiple projects and work streams
  • Entrepreneurial, strong desire to work in a startup environment
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Unmatched sense of urgency
  • Outstanding cultural contributor; no ego
