Flagship Labs 97 Inc. (FL97) is a privately held, early-stage company pioneering the application of artificial intelligence to transform all science. Our Physical Sciences effort is developing a novel AI and data-driven approach to materials discovery and development to accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement strategies to discover novel porous materials
• Manage interdisciplinary team in discovery efforts, including in-house and outsourced team elements
• Work with product and commercial teams to develop product candidates
• Work with the computational team to identify materials design pathways that target desired functional properties
• Work with the experimental team to drive material discovery and development
• Monitor and communicate advancements in porous materials from the broader research community
• Aggregate knowledge gained across computation, synthesis, and experiment work stream and report findings to the FL96 research team

Qualifications

• Experience with experimental design, data acquisition, result interpretation and implementation
• Experience with managing projects, leading teams, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
• Ability to represent company interests, including C-suite level presentations, to potential partners
• PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field
• Strong self-starter and independent thinker, with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated industry experience or academic achievement
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner
• Eager to work with highly skilled and dynamic teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technical setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience translating product candidate from discovery through scale up and commercialization
• Experience with machine learning integration in experiment workflows
