Position Summary:
The Research Associate/Senior Research Associate will be responsible for culturing primary cells and perform varius cell-based assays and screens. In addition, the person is expected to contribute to general laboratory maintenance in a collaborative environment. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is comfortable multi-tasking, enjoys working independently and as a team, and is eager to learn and adapt. This individual will join a dynamic, rapidly growing, and highly collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to:
- Culture, transfect, and electroporate cell lines and primary cells
- Evaluate the performance of candidate nucleic acids (mRNA/DNA) in vitro
- Support onboarding of novel assays to mesure mRNA stability and protein halph life
- Keep good records of experiments and cell line inventory
- Prepare quantitative analysis, technical reports, summaries, and protocols
- Lab maintenance
Basic Qualifications:
- B.A./B.S. or M.S. in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, biomedical engineering or related fields.
- Past laboratory research experience working with cultured cells 2+ years
- Excellent troubleshooting and capability, attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organization, record-keeping, and time management skills
- Team-oriented and self-motivated
- Enthusiasm in learning new knowledge and skills
- Excellent ability to adapt to the changing needs of the team and the company
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience with culturing primary hepatocyte or T cells
- Experience with mRNA transfection using lipofectamine or LNP
- Experience with gene editing
