Data is at the heart of how Lyft makes business and product decisions.  We’re looking for an Associate Manager, Quality Assurance to work alongside the Regulatory Compliance team. You have a passion for data quality and data accuracy for compliance reporting.  You’ll be working in a dynamic environment, where we embrace moving quickly to build the world’s best transportation. 

You will perform quality assurance to deliver a high-quality reporting and analytics product. You will maintain automated test scripts and manage a test environment for testing ETL and data integrations. You will dig into the data to uncover insights and gaps, and work with the Business Analyst, Report Developer and Product Management on a permanent solution regarding data quality issues.

You will work with multiple cross-functional stakeholders and influence all aspects of how Lyft complies with regulatory data sharing requirements. You are customer-focused and passionate about quality and accuracy, with a proven record of working effectively across functional organizations. You will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager of Compliance Reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, research and document bugs, suggesting resolutions, root causes and proactive processes
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts related to all aspects of data quality assurance in an effort to reduce defects and quality issues
  • Evaluate test results against expected results, implement improvements to processes, and recommend alternative testing as needed
  • Develop reusable Extract Transform Load (ETL) test automation framework
  • Develop complex PL/SQL & SQL scripts using Presto, Hive and SQL Developer tools to validate the ETL process/design implemented
  • Develop database analytical/aggregation functions and stored procedures to validate different drill down metrics and dashboards
  • Perform manual and automated testing on all reports, data, and analysis
  • Develop reporting requirements specifications from business requirements and users
  • Develop test scripts utilizing comprehensive business requirements, functional documentation, and reporting specification and processes
  • Development of test strategies and plans
  • Produce clear and well written bug reports, QA status reports and conduct go/no go meetings
  • Create monitoring scripts and automate alert process on any violations
  • Verify that bugs have been fixed in a platform release

Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or relevant work experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in software QA engineering, ETL, and report testing and analysis
  • 3+ years of experience and proficiency in advanced SQL - able to write structured, complex and efficient queries on large data sets
  • Proficiency in  SQL Server, Presto, Hive, RDBMS, ETL, Python, GSuite, Jira
  • Experience in manual data testing and working knowledge of QA concepts and methodology
  • Working experience in building ETL (preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; extremely attentive to detail
