Lyft’s Developer Infrastructure group provides our engineers with best in class tools and services to enable them to build the best customer focused ride-sharing products and services in the world.

As a Developer Relations Engineer at Lyft, you’ll help developers and architects understand how Lyft’s Platform systems can be used to support their work. You will also represent our engineers in planning to ensure that new tools and services address their needs. This is a technical role focused on building and nurturing relationships between teams.

Some travel to other Lyft offices will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with developers to understand how they ship code at Lyft and provide feedback to Platform teams to shape features, processes, and systems
  • Seek solutions to developer needs, communicate trends to leadership, and suggest innovative solutions to improve the developer experience
  • Deliver presentations, product demos, technical blogs, and discussions to drive adoption of Lyft’s Platform systems and tools
  • Implement proofs-of-concept and sample code to demonstrate usage and functionality of internal APIs and frameworks
  • Review and maintain documentation, plus creating other support materials for developers.
  • Own problem resolution

Experience:

  • Strong engineering background, with 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, architect, or developer advocate
  • Comfortable with a variety of programming languages, experience with Python, Go, and/or JavaScript is a plus
  • Knowledge of developer tools ecosystem and open source
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Ability to build consensus with stakeholders and confidence to drive accountability
  • Strong sense of customer focus and ownership
  • Familiarity with statistics and data analytics
