Lyft is looking for a Market Expansion Lead to help grow its rapidly expanding Lyft Rentals program, a new service that allows Lyft users to seamlessly rent a car for weekend getaways, business travel and errands. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of projects to launch new Lyft Rentals locations, products, and services. You will manage the coordination across Real Estate, Product, Regulatory, Operations, and external teams, among others, to deliver projects on time and within scope. You will also help train, onboard, and oversee new locations during infancy to ensure the operations are running smoothly and as expected. 

We’re looking for a highly organized and self-motivated individual who is comfortable leading teams of people and driving the progress of highly visible, complex, collaborative projects. You have experience in designing project plans from scratch and identifying solutions to unforeseen problems. You have the ability to ask probing questions, detect unstated assumptions, drive consensus, and resolve conflict. You are also exceedingly customer-focused and are always looking to find solutions to optimize for the best customer experience. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and manage project plans utilizing project management tools
  • Collaborate across teams to define and ensure commitment to project schedule, scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables
  • Monitor project risk, resolve conflicts, and escalate issues to management as necessary 
  • Establish and lead all working group meetings: Create agendas, assign reporting responsibilities, and distribute key takeaways
  • Iterate on launch playbook to improve the speed and execution of each new market
  • Understand the needs of our renters (our customers) to build the right customer-service flows in each market
  • Build strong relationships with local partners and hold local operations team accountable to standard operating procedures and customer service standards
  • Help new markets launch and operate in early days. Hands-on approach a must. Willingness to serve customers, jump in where necessary is critical.
  • Onboard the operations team in new markets leveraging existing training infrastructure and internal tools and workflows.

Experience:

  • 3+ years project management experience 
  • 3+ years of operations and customer service experience, car rental experience is strongly preferred
  • Understanding of project management phases, techniques, and tools
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving ability
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills 
  • Experience delivering process-centered solutions
  • Ability to facilitate discussion and drive consensus in cross-functional working environments
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
