At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive.

We’re looking for a Product Design Manager to lead the Driver Segments & Fleets areas within our Driver organization. Drivers are at the heart of everything we build. Our goal is to deliver exceptional experiences throughout their journey with Lyft—enabling them to earn a living, support their families, and pursue their passions through safe, efficient, and rewarding interactions.

As a Product Design Manager, you’ll lead a team of talented product designers, providing direction and guidance of the team’s output, as well as stewarding best practices in cross-functional partnership and design process. You will propagate a strong design practice, influence product strategy, and make a strong impact on product execution and quality. You’ll also provide design mentorship and be a champion for values, craft and career development, as well as create the operational space and organizational cover for your team to focus and thrive.

You bring both a sharp eye for detail and the ability to think big, innovate, and break new ground. You have a proven track record designing for mobile, and your portfolio demonstrates clear impact on both user experience and business outcomes—alongside the particulars in overall experience, visual polish, and complex interactions. You’re a thoughtful, hands-on leader, an exceptional communicator, and a cross-organizational team player. You’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves and collaborating with passionate designers, product managers, engineers, marketers, and executives who are deeply committed to creating industry-leading experiences centered around driver and business needs.

By joining us, you’ll take on meaningful challenges and have a significant impact on the lives of Lyft Drivers:

We also help unlock new international markets and keep drivers on the road by ensuring they meet local regulatory requirements.
  • Fleets plays a strategic role in Lyft’s future by expanding the types of drivers and vehicles on the platform. We’re shaping the future of mobility by enabling new offerings such as Autonomous Vehicles, while also improving existing programs like Express Drive, Electric Vehicles (EVs), and Premium Vehicles. Our work enhances both the driver and rider experience, supports economic opportunity, reduces insurance costs, and keeps Lyft ahead of industry trends.

  • Push the boundaries of your team’s UX/UI/visual execution and explore new ideas. Be able to think “Blue Sky” and explore divergent concepts and create trajectory for the company
  • Influence product strategy and lead your team in executing design work with a high level of polish, and understand how to solve a range of tactical & contained issue to much more complex, loosely defined product challenges across all digital platforms with a larger emphasis on mobile
  • Know how to lead and represent your team effectively, substantiate the work and the decisions behind them, and be an advocate for user-centered design
  • Build relationships with cross functional team members and executives across organizations, and effectively speak to process, design goals and team vision as a strong representative of the design team
  • Step change productivity and accelerate team efficiency by improving processes and workflows with the design team and cross functional teams

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience working in Product Design, UX, UI, or an HCI related field with a focus on mobile experiences at high-growth technology companies
