Lyft Transit, Bikes, Scooters Team Overview:

Lyft’s Bike, Scooter and Transit team oversees Lyft’s growing investment in the provision of micro-mobility technology and services across the United States.  This role would work cross-functionally with the Lyft Policy team, who is focused on creating a regulatory environment that enhances access to transit and enables bike and scooter programs to flourish, but also engage stakeholders across the business from Product to Communications. 

About the Role:

Lyft is looking for a passionate and talented writer and proposal coordinator to join Lyft’s Bike, Scooter and Transit Partnership team. As we expand our bike and scooter programs and work to improve access to transit, Lyft is increasingly responding to City Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and permit applications. This role will lead development of RFP responses and work with other team members to manage content production for competitive procurement bids.  

As a Proposal Lead for our City Partnerships team, you will be responsible for conveying  Lyft’s unique shared mobility vision and commitment to decoupling mobility from auto-ownership in clear and compelling proposals. You will manage Lyft content development, including writing submission documents and gathering content from Product, Public Policy, and Operations teams to inform our applications. 

This role will require a diversity of skill-sets including strong writing, project management, and organizational skills. You must be a team player, who is able to manage cross-functional stakeholders and adhere to tight deadlines. As a critical team member in Lyft’s Multimodal team - you will become an expert in Lyft’s new mobility products and tasked with conveying Lyft’s vision for the future of shared mobility, sustainable transportation alternatives and livable cities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and submittal of proposals and permit applications for transit partnerships and bike and scooter permits
  • Write compelling content and curate technical material from other teams
  • Work closely with Lyft’s public policy, product, compliance, and local operations teams to ensure that permit requirements are able to be operationalized
  • Develop and execute internal processes and standards to support scale and operational excellence 

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in proposal/permit/grant writing, copy-writing/editing, and/or grant project management
  • Academic and/or work history in city planning, public transportation or public policy preferred
  • A strong writer and creative storyteller who can bring to life the multimodal programs Lyft provides
  • A teammate with proven ability to effectively lead cross-functional efforts
