About Portworx by Pure

Portworx by Pure Storage is the Kubernetes data platform trusted by enterprises to manage mission-critical applications in containers, across any cloud or on-prem environment. By providing a single data management layer for all stateful services, Portworx simplifies container infrastructure, accelerates application deployment, and reduces operational complexity—no matter where workloads run.

With Portworx, organizations gain agility to respond to changing business, regulatory, or economic demands—empowering developers and operators alike to innovate faster.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Cloud Architect to help scale adoption of Portworx solutions across Iberia, Italy, and LATAM. This is a pre-sales role focused on working with enterprise and public sector customers to architect and evangelize cloud-native storage and data management strategies for Kubernetes-based applications.

You will work hand-in-hand with dedicated Portworx Sales Specialists and cross-functional teams to drive technical strategy, deliver value-focused solutions, and support customers throughout their journey—from discovery to deployment. You’ll act as a trusted technical advisor, aligning Portworx capabilities to real-world customer use cases across multi-cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.

This role is ideal for Kubernetes-savvy, customer-focused professionals who enjoy solving complex challenges, influencing technical decision-makers, and operating across diverse international markets.

What You’ll Do (Should You Accept This Challenge)

  • Partner with Portworx Sales Specialists to drive technical pre-sales activities across Iberia, Italy, and LATAM
  • Lead discovery, demos, proof of concepts (POCs), and architecture workshops to demonstrate how Portworx solves customer challenges
  • Engage with senior technical and business stakeholders to articulate solution value and support long-term success
  • Design end-to-end architectures for deploying and scaling stateful applications in Kubernetes environments
  • Guide customers through container adoption and Day 2 data management workflows
  • Support RFP/RFI processes, competitive positioning, and technical validation efforts
  • Collaborate with internal teams (product, engineering, marketing) to provide customer feedback and influence roadmap
  • Represent Portworx at conferences, webinars, and industry forums
  • Travel as needed (up to 60%) across supported regions

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Core Experience

  • 5+ years in customer-facing technical architecture or pre-sales roles
  • 4+ years in technical sales (Sales Engineering, Solutions Architect, Presales, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in technical sales cycles and customer engagement
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to align technology to business value
  • Professional fluency in Spanish, English and Italian

Technical Requirements

  • 5+ years of Linux administration or development experience
  • 3+ years of Kubernetes administration, with KCNA or higher certification preferred
Deep familiarity with Kubernetes platforms (OpenShift, Rancher) and major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, OpenStack)
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Ansible, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD platforms)
  • Understanding of data platforms, backup/disaster recovery, and Day 2 operations in containerized environments
  • Knowledge of enterprise application lifecycle and how containerization impacts delivery and operations

Specialty Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Certification-level fluency with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Experience with AI/ML, analytics, or high-performance computing (HPC) workloads
  • Background in data engineering, database management, or hybrid cloud architecture
