Major League Baseball’s Japan office is seeking a seasonal intern to assist both the Events and Marketing departments with the responsibility of growing the public profile of MLB and its players/teams in the country. This is an excellent opportunity for students with interest in sports marketing and event operations.
This position is based in Tokyo (Minato-ku), with a three-month minimum term requiring a commitment of at least three commute days per-week. This position is non-remote.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, preparation, and execution for domestic events, including management/shipping of equipment, and on-site coordination.
- Support the creation of proposals and reports, mainly through research, content collection, and translations.
- Deliver marketing plans and ideas to activate MLB’s pre-existing local channels.
- Complete marketing research tasks, including social media monitoring and casting/influencer research.
- Administrative assistance including shipping, taking phone calls, and general management of the office space.
Qualifications & Skills
- Currently enrolled in a university program eligible for a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Baseball fan strongly preferred
- Language Proficiency: English = Intermediate / Japanese = Business
Pay Range: A JPY 50,000 monthly stipend for commuting and meal costs will be provided to interns that fulfill the minimum number of commute days.
Major League Baseball will also provide support to students in university programs eligible to receive credits for participation in internships.
