We're looking for a Senior Technical Writer to define and deliver several transformative developer-facing documentation projects. This is a Senior role. As a member of a small Engineering Technical Writing team, you'll get to make a significant, recognised contribution to improving the Developer Experience at Squarespace.

You’ll report directly to the Senior Manager for Technical Writing in Engineering. You will have the option of working from our Dublin office or remotely within Ireland.

You'll Get To…

  • Collaborate with software engineers and leaders, performing independent research to inform your work
  • Create clear, accurate, consumable technical content including API documentation and developer guides for a software engineering audience
  • Coach teams on documentation workflows and technical writing best practices
  • Realise improvements to our practices and to our developer experience

In the first three months, you’ll:

  • Build effective working relationships with engineers and leaders across R&D
  • Begin leading 2-3 documentation projects, contributing content, and identifying future deliverables
  • Begin creating your career development plan with your manager

Who We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience as a technical writer with a developer audience
  • Experience delivering projects with a high level of technical complexity and broad scale
  • You show an exemplary ability to write and converse in English
  • You work as a peer to software engineers, using the same tools and development methodologies, including docs as code
  • You're curious, learning new technical concepts and software products quickly
  • You turn complex ideas in logical steps appropriate to the audience
  • You work amazingly with remote and distributed teams
  • You have a commitment to creating a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and trust
